The "Do-It-Yourself" OptionFor participants who prefer to select their own mix of investments, these funds are available with The Contractors Plan:
- Transamerica Stable Value Option
The goal of this fund is to protect against loss of principal while providing returns in excess of money market funds and one-year Treasury bills. This account is invested in Transamerica Life Insurance Company’s General Account (TLIC) which as been awarded a Superior (A+) rating by A.M. Best.
- SSgA Bond Index
This option seeks to match the total rate of return of the Lehman Brothers Aggregate Bond Index during a calendar year. Underlying investments in this portfolio include U.S. Treasury, agency, corporate, mortgage-backed, commercial mortgage-backed, and asset-backed securities.
- Thornburg Value Fund
This investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. It invests primarily in domestic equity securities selected on a value basis, and may also invest in foreign securities and American depository receipts.
- Goldman Sachs Mid Cap Value Fund
This investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. Normally the majority of the fund is invested in equity securities. Lesser percentages of the fund may be invested in foreign securities and fixed-income securities such as government, corporate and bank debt obligations.
- Oppenheimer Main Street Small Cap Fund
This investment seeks capital appreciation. Normally it invests primarily in the securities of companies having small-market capitalization.
- Templeton Foreign Fund
This investment seeks long-term capital growth. It is best suited for long-term investors who want international investment opportunities and who can accept the special risks associated with these investments.
The "Pro-Mix" Option
For participants in The Contractors Plan who prefer the “Pro-Mix” option, these life cycle funds are available:
- Manning & Napier Pro-Mix Conservative Term This investment seeks a reduction of capital risk while generating income. The fund invests in a conservative mix of stocks, bonds and cash that is actively managed to clearly favor stability over growth.
- Manning & Napier Pro-Mix Moderate Term This investment seeks to balance conflicting goals of growth of capital and preservation of capital. The fund invests in a moderately conservative mix of stocks, bonds and cash that is actively managed to moderate risk and generate a more stable rate of growth relative to the stock market.
- Manning & Napier Pro-Mix Extended Term This investment seeks long-term capital growth with an important secondary goal of dampening market volatility. The fund invests in a growth-oriented mix of stocks, bonds and cash that is actively managed to earn a good portion of the growth of the stock market while taking less risk than a fund that invests only in stocks.
- Manning & Napier Pro-Mix Maximum Term This investment seeks to achieve the high level of long-term capital growth typically associated with the stock market. The fund invests in an aggressive, growth-oriented mix of stocks, bonds and cash that is actively managed to maximize long-term growth.
Our enrollment materials include a simple risk questionnaire. Participants complete the questionnaire and the results help them choose which life cycle fund is the best fit for them.
